AIA Honor Award for Interiors

The Donnelly condominium renovation in Siesta Key, Florida, was the recipient of the honor award for interiors from the American Institute of Architects Gulf Coast Chapter. This condo is a combination of two corner units on the 15th floor of Siesta Key’s Terrace Building and has expansive views of the city, gulf and beach. All of the strategic design decisions made were to give the homeowner the ability to have a space that felt like one big fluid area or separate spaces when desired.

Euro-Wall’s dealer throughout this project was Universal Window Solutions, owned by brothers Rocky and Bob Smith. Euro-Wall has  partnered with Universal Window Solutions for many successful projects over the last several years. The brains behind the architectural design of this condo were architects John Pichette and Michael Halflants. They chose to incorporate two sets of Euro-Wall folding doors that open from the structural corners, instead of windows. Their studio’s goal is to “create thoughtful, high quality modern architecture that respond to context and function.” They also describe their approach to modern architecture as being “process-oriented and deliberately avoiding preconceived solutions.”

Euro-Wall’s folding doors make bold aesthetic and functional statements when it comes to residential and commercial large openings. These folding doors can be utilized indoors to create flexibility for living spaces or outdoors to create an open air design layout. Euro-Wall’s folding doors systems can span heights up to 144″, widths up to 52″, can be configured as a radius or postless corner systems and can span any opening width with an unlimited number of sequential panels.
