Featured Project: Credit One Stadium
The renovation of the Credit One Stadium in Charleston, South Carolina ushers in a new era of entertainment and sports for its surrounding community. Formerly known as the Volvo Car Stadium and centrally located on Daniel Island, the structure is famous for hosting the Credit One Charleston Open, North America’s largest women’s only tennis tournament. The extensive revitalization allowed the world-class facility to transform into the ideal premier venue for major concerts, shows, and international performances; after adding enough concrete to fill a 45-feet tall tennis court and installing more than 200 miles of wiring, the 167,093 square foot arena increased to fit an overall capacity of 11,000 people. The new open-air design and a spacious bowl-shaped stadium offer spectacular views of events for the ultimate enjoyable experience, designed to blend seamlessly with its environment with a vegetative ceiling and walls, fossilized moss, custom woodwork, and imported tile flooring.
All enhancements were funded by Ben and Kelly Navarro, who own Charleston Tennis LLC, as a gift to the city. The two-decade old structure underwent extensive upgrades, allowing the state of the art facility to attract performers and athletes like never before. The space now features Premium Hospitality Suites, with top-notch amenities and services, wide screen televisions, comfortable seating, kitchen areas, and more. Euro-Wall’s folding and bar top multi slide doors enclose all of the suites in the stadium, modernizing the space while maintaining a sense of intimacy and privacy. There is also a four-story “Stage House” which houses player wellness facilities, including physical therapy, exercise spaces, and premium locker rooms; it accommodates back of house production, media, and food preparation areas to boot. A VIP Club level overlooking the Center Court is available as well, for those looking for the finest experience the stadium can offer.
